How to look after your jewellery

The material

I use a non-toxic PVC based medium called polymer clay to create your jewellery, this is a very strong and slightly flexible material, however it must still be treated with care to prevent breakage. Earring backings and findings are silver plated nickel free metal and necklace cords are made from a strong waxed cotton.

How to care for it

Your jewellery is easy to look after, just remember to take it off before you sleep, shower or swim. I recommend that you store it in a cool dry place and avoid allowing it to get scratched.

If it needs it you can clean your polymer clay jewellery by gently wiping it with a damp cloth and a mild detergent.

Ok so lets face it, polymer clay is not a sustainable material, it is made from PVC.
However I am still committed to using the material responsibly and my aim is that you treat and treasure it the same way you would with any other piece of jewellery, in other words I make it to last and to be well loved. Quite the opposite of single use throw away plastic costume jewellery! So that is quite a big ask from such a humble material, that is why I go to great lengths to ensure the quality.

The reason why I make in small batches is to minimise waste and I keep all of the scraps to either perform tests and samples or to make earrings for my “waste not” range.

Further to my commitment to long lasting jewellery, should you need any refurbishment or repairs please do get in touch and I am always happy to discuss how I can help you to keep your jewellery in tip-top condition.

Packaging

I use 100% recyclable cardboard and shredded recycled paper in my packaging, also my mailer boxes have a surprise colour interior and have often been used by customers in their crafty projects! Id love to see what you do with yours!!
